AliAkbar Hassonjee is a 3rd year B.A. candidate in the Economics Department at New York University. He serves as President of Student PAC at NYU, a nonpartisan political activism club that uses student votes to endorse politicians at the federal level and external organizations. He is also a student leader in the NYU Sustainability Community through his work with EarthMatters at NYU and other organizations on various projects. Akbar also works as an Operations Intern at NYC ACRE, a cleantech startup incubator at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering in Brooklyn, NYC. He assists with market research and funding research projects, company due diligence, and operational tasks to support the evolving incubator program and its various clean energy, cleantech, and smart city companies. Akbar grew up in the Princeton area of New Jersey and religiously watches New York Giants and New York Rangers games. He has a deep passion for cosmology, space exploration technologies and programs, and the sustainable future of the earth, which he hopes he will be able to be a part of after graduating.
