Dorraine Duncan is a Master of Public Policy candidate with a concentration in energy and environmental policy at Georgia Institute of Technology. As a native of Jamaica she is interested in how renewable energy can create sustainable and independent local economies and spur community development in cities across the global south. With a focus on urban regions she will be applying for a dual Masters in City and Regional Planning with Georgia Tech's School of Architecture this semester. Prior to starting her Master's Dorraine graduated from Kalamazoo College, MI where she majored in Mathematics and had a minor in Environmental Studies. She is also an alum of the International Sustainable Development Studies Institute in Chiang Mai, Thailand where she completed research on the country's policies supporting the growth of the alternative energy industry . Most recently she was an environmental instructor at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio where she taught students from fourth to ninth grade.
