Emily Cairns
Emily Cairns is a senior at American University pursuing a dual degree in Environmental Science and International Relations. In 2014, she studied renewable energy systems in Scandinavia and the implementation of sustainable building practices in Copenhagen. Additionally, she worked at a consulting firm in DC this past summer, focusing on clean energy and the provision of municipal services. Originally from Massachusetts, Emily assisted with testing water samples from the Blackstone River Watershed for orthophosphate and cadmium levels. On campus, she serves as the Vice President of Scholarship for the Sigma Delta Tau Sorority. In her free time, Emily enjoys exploring local parks and museums.
