Jairo Cervantes is a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering at University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). He is currently a research assistant at the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at UNL. His research interests are Power System Operation, Renewable Energies in Power Market, and Network Transmission Planning. His interest for a cleaner future resulted in the publication of an academic article which presents a model to determine the optimal wind power penetration in the real-time energy market operation. He recently formed part of the select graduate student ambassadors at UNL. Prior to that, he made part of the teaching assistants who support the Resource Room of the ECE Department. Before completing his undergraduate in Electronics Engineering, Mr. Cervantes had an internship at Cement of Mexico (CEMEX) at Colombia where he is originally from.
