Spark Clean Energy is a nonprofit organization founded in 2014 to consolidate resources and provide programming to empower the next generation of student energy innovators.
In the coming weeks we will open applications for two new programs to increase student engagement in clean energy innovation and entrepreneurship. The Spark Clean Energy Fellowship is designed to foster the next generation of student energy leaders through collaborations with each other and experts in the field to tackle unmet needs in the energy sector. It is a unique fellowship that sponsors student attendance at two conferences, the BERC Energy Summit and the MIT Energy Conference. In addition to attending these events, Fellows will work together to identify and implement projects that benefit the student energy community across the United States. The Spark Clean Energy Prize (in partnership with ComEd, an Exelon Company) is a nation-wide innovation competition for students to solve problems related to grid resilience and climate adaptation. Participants will have the opportunity to compete for $20,000 worth of cash and other prizes. This and future competitions offer an alternative to business plan competitions as a way of incentivizing new and creative engagement in the energy and sustainability industries. Both the Fellowship and Innovation Prize are platforms for students to connect, collaborate, and accelerate energy innovation on their campuses and around the world. In the interim, we welcome your feedback and questions. We look forward to working with you to empower the next generation of student energy leaders. Sincerely, Mark Silberg, Butch Frey, and Sarah Jane Maxted Directors @ Spark Clean Energy |
