Rhys Davis is a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering major at The Ohio State University and is originally from Columbus, Ohio. He is currently president of the OSU student organization Engineers for a Sustainable World, which works to connect the bright minds of the thousands of engineering students on campus to the fast-growing world of sustainable development and design through design-and-build projects, professional development and networking opportunities, and educational outreach programs. He is currently project manager for a solar charging picnic table design that would allow students to charge their phones and laptops while sitting and working outside at a table.
Rhys plans on graduating with honors distinction and finding a job in sustainable engineering consulting and helping companies lower their environmental impact, although he would like to one day go back to school to get a master’s degree in sustainable building design and research ways to improve resource efficiency and lessen environmental impacts of new buildings.
